Ok so the credit crunch has had an affect on your business and the team away day this year will have to go on hold because you simply haven’t got the budget.

Well why should it?! Just because the last event you held accounted for your whole years event budget doesn’t mean that this years event has to be the same. Take treasure hunts for instance these outdoor team building events are a perfect way of getting your team out of the office for a day and mixing effectively with each other in a fresh new environment.

Treasure hunts are totally versatile and very cost effective as you can eliminate the need for an expensive hotel or conference venue straight away and start your team build from any location.

The usual format is for the event to start within a city or country side location and cover an area that provides local knowledge through the use of clues and route cards provided. Teams are provided with various equipment in order to carry out their task for the day, and using your teams individual skills and talents you must group together and race against the clock in order to complete as much of the treasure hunt route as possible.

There are various different scenarios and formats available for instance if you are feeling energetic then an ‘on foot’ format within a city location would be well suited. However if you fancy a more action packed event then why not use vehicles for an added touch of adventure! GPS systems also provide an excellent way to test your navigational skills and can also incorporate some highly amusing scenarios!

It is also a good idea to finish the event off with a de-brief session at a local bar or restaurant where you can also enjoy a rewarding drink or meal to finish the day off!
